Welcome

The Village of Chauncey manages and operates the water and sewer systems for Chauncey and beyond. Water connections are available for out-of-town residents. At this time, sewer connections are only available to Chauncey residents.  Tap fees vary upon size so inquire within for more information. 


For billing inquiries or questions related to your water or sewer service, call 740-797-2031. The water office is open Monday through Friday 9am-3:30pm except on holidays.


To pay your bill, call 866-587-0443, drop payment off at the slot in the door at 42 Converse St., or visit the following website to create an account and pay bills online:

You'll need to click "Consumer Registration" and use the account number listed on your latest bill in order to locate your account. Please consider opting into receiving an e-bill for future bills to help us save on paper and postage costs!

As of January 1, 2025, the base water rate for the Village of Chauncey is $33.20 for the first 2000 gallons for Chauncey residents. A charge of $5.67 for each 1000 gallons after base rate. Out-of-town customer rates are $40.29 for the first 2000 gallons and $6.67 for each 1000 gallons after base rate.

Village of Chauncey is $17.52 per 1000 gallons.

 All water and sewer bills are deemed delinquent if not paid within 10 days. A 10% late fee shall be assessed on each delinquent account on the 11th day after due date. (Per Ordinance 2013-7)

 On the 1st of each month, all delinquent accounts shall be notified of water service shut-off by use of door hangtags placed on the main door of the property. There shall be a $20.00 hangtag fee added to the delinquent account. (Per Ordinance 2013-7)

If you notice an issue with one of our streetlights you may contact the office at 740-797-2031. Please leave a message after business hours. Include contact information and the location of the streetlight.

SAFETY HAZARD CONDITIONS

A safety hazard is a condition that poses an immediate risk to the public, and can include:

  • Downed wires that may be sparking or near water
  • Trees that have fallen on power lines

Never go near or touch a power line.
